Apocaypse Hal - Quiz

The final Apocalypse Hal for 2013.

If you have trouble reading it - try the version on facebook, it should be bigger.

I'm taking a break for a while so you will have to wait patiently for Hal to return in 2014 (sorry mum). But rest assured, I have lots of ideas for 2014, some may even be good ones.

Have a very zombie christmas!

Well  it's that time of year when we find ourselves full of festive cheer, or festive fear if your Rick Grimes and have just been forced from your jail sanctuary into the zombie filled wilderness again!

This year why don't you put a bit of zombie into some of your christmas traditions! You have already seen Mr Rimsky's take on a gingerbread house, but have you thought about what kind of card to give a family member that last minute emergency gift of cash hastily stuffed into? Or what festive bedtime story do you have in store or the kids on Christmas Eve? Well lucky for you we have done the research so here is a few ideas to zombify your christmas.

Available here

Or last but not least how about adding a survival kit as decoration for your tree? If the outbreak occurs tomorrow you will have the jump on your preparations!!

On behalf of the BZF team a huge bloody zombie christmas to all our awesome followers out there, thanks for reading and supporting our blog. We will be taking a little break over the festive season ( well except maybe Mr Rimsky) but will be back next year with more zombie pop culture, art, survival tips and most importantly how to get through the apocalypse in style!!

Be merry and don't get bit!

A Christmas Carol

Christmas is almost here. So it's time to crank up the air conditioner, crack open a cold beer and sprawl out under the Christmas tree to read a good story.

And what better than Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

Good old Ebenezer Scrooge who, through the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, discovers the true horror of a zombie infested London. That's right, zombies.

In 2011 Marvel comics released a 5 part adaption of this classic story with a ghoulish twist. London is being overrun by the "Hungry Death" a plague that is threatening to destroy the city and Christmas.

Filled with beautiful, flesh ripping illustrations, this is a story that really will teach the kids the true meaning of Christmas.

Apocalypse Hal - Gingerbread

Baking is a important zombie apocalypse survival skill.

Here's my rather chunky attempt at artistic expression through the medium of gingerbread.

A late Halloween surprise!

Hi Everyone, a few weeks ago we were proud to share with you some of the spooky fun from our Halloween party.  A couple of you however were suitably disturbed by the creepy clown who we can now introduce as Mr D’Lush!
Mr D’Lush decided to freak us all out during our ‘Blair Witch’ confessions game with a graphic story that he had concocted on his own.  The story runs for about eight minutes but little did we know that the horror of the story was not all that he had in store for us.

So it is with BZF pride that we present to you the as yet untitled short graphic story below, if you have the nerves to sit through all the way to the end, we would love to hear your suggestions of a title on our Facebook page!

Apocalypse Hal - Dogalogues

You can tell Christmas is close, the letterbox is stuffed full of sale dogalogues. With so much being discounted, it is a golden opportunity to rack up some credit.

Yes I know they are called catalogues but I am more a dog person.

Beekeeping - a skill for apocalyptic life

So however your planning to keep out of the way of the hungry hordes when the zombie apocalypse goes down, whether it be keeping out of harm’s way by living amongst the roof tops, a remote farm, jail or barricading yourself your own little town Governor style, you best make sure there is room for some bee hives and get working on those bee keeping skills!

Why you ask... Well the answer is simple ...honey!! That's right my BZF friends, honey will be liquid gold in the dark apocalyptic times. Apart from the fact there is going to be no sugar for you tea, honey has a number of uses including many of those that will tick a lot of boxes for those not willing to give up on their beauty regime!

So here is how honey can help you make your way through the end of the world in style!

Acne – honey’s anti-bac properties make it a great cleanser for acne, so not only fight undead but use honey to fight off spots too.

Scars – you’re bound to pick up a scar here and there from a run in with other survivors so take advantage of honey’s natural bleaching effect to fade them away.

Moisturiser – run out of Nivea Crème and a raid has failed to find any left on the planet, well don’t stress, honey is soothing and hydrating so just wack on a honey mask and you won’t have to worry about dry flaky apocalyptic skin that could leaving you as dead looking as the zombies.

Hair conditioner and lightener – think you have to spend the rest of your post-apocalyptic life with bad hair and regrowth? Well think again! Honey is softening and moisturising for your hair too and the bleaching effect means that a weekly honey rinse wiill keep your locks shiny and your regrowth under control.
Hair removal – Just because you will be fighting for survival does not mean that you have to spend the rest of your days sporting long camo plants to cover your hairy legs, get the shorts out lady’s, get into your bathers even as honey can be used in place of wax!
So there you have it, I for one will be taking up beekeeping as soon as I have finished doing my hair!!
Slap on some honey and don't get bit!
