It has been a very busy week and BFZ has been a little neglected this week while the team was kept busy with our day jobs. I don't know about you but things seem to be getting busier as the end of the world rapidly approaches. So do you have your survival plan in order? Make sure you check back next week for some more in depth discussion on so you can survive the apocalypse in the style!
Have a great weekend and start stockpiling

Zombie Trailer Madness!
So now that the Twilight Saga has come to an end, Hollywood has hit the panic button about what to do next - the answer, zombies of course! It would appear that movies with a zombie theme are being released faster than one of Rihanna’s singles. That’s right everyone, the humble zombie movie is undergoing some intense mutations and dividing itself into many sub-genres of its own, look out for these titles coming soon!
- Zombie fans are gagging for World War Z as Brad Pitt takes on the undead in this action blockbuster.
- The Day focuses on a group of survivors living in a grim post-apocalyptic future as civilization crumbles beneath their feet.
- 13 Eerie sees forensic students exploring a site which was once home to illegal prisoner biological testing – you can guess the rest.
- I’m looking forward to Re-Kill, set five years after the outbreak; we follow a rag-tag team of Special Ops agents who make the horrifying discovery that a second outbreak may be imminent.
- Nothing is sacred anymore with the timely Christmas with the Dead, think electrified zombie Santa’s being shot in the face – win!
As a special treat this week I really have saved the best till last! Doc of the Dead won’t be released for a while but the film asks the hard hitting questions (just like our own Miss K) about the realistic possibility of a Zombie outbreak. What would you do? Have you seen the signs? Check out the trailer below.

Zombies in your ears!
Hello Friends
As Zombies continue to invade our screens, I feel this is the right time to infect the radio waves with an injection of zombie themed anthems. Way back when in the year 1982, Michael Jackson released the phenomenon known as Thriller. The accompanying film clip featured zombies crawling out from their graves and breaking it down with some awesome choreography. I am pleased to report that MJ’s legacy lives on today, as artists from around the globe continue to include Zombies as inspiration for their music. Here are my top five:
5. Rob Zombie – Living Dead Girl
Released back in 1999, Living Dead Girl gives you a healthy serve of industrial metal set against the back drop of a grainy black and white 1930’s inspired film clip.
4. The Cranberries – Zombie
Heralding from the mid 90’s, the Cranberries use the humble Zombie as a metaphor to protest the political troubles in Northern Ireland, while at the same time reaching number 1 in multiple countries around the globe.
3. The Creepshow – Zombies ate her brain
These Canadian songsters describe their style as ‘Psychobilly’. Even though I just came across this song a few days ago, it still makes the number 3 position as I feel Miss K would appreciate the leopard print frock, amazing big hair and the hilarious abrupt ending.
2. Natalia Kills – Zombie
In a similar approach to the Cranberries, Natalia Kills slays your favourites with this 2010 dark pop gem, by describing her boyfriend as a cold heartless Zombie with an eerie film clip to match.
1. Laura Shigihara - Zombies on your Lawn
Never heard of Laura Shigihara?? Me neither, but I am now this new Lady Gaga's number one follower on Twitter. At the risk of sounding totally mental, I’m backing Zombies on your Lawn for Youtube viral glory! With over 13 million hits already, this instant classic is part of the Plants Vs Zombies game soundtrack. This song has tongue-in-cheek lyrics and a film clip with footage from the game which takes it to another level of psycho tropic heaven! Trust me when I say you will not be able to get this tune out of your head.
So there you have it ladies and gents, I hope you now have a fine appreciation for the role that Zombies play in our forever evolving music industry. And how about you, did I miss one of your Zombie themed faves? Comment below and share your favourite Zombie anthems with a brief description!

Apocalyptic hair stylin’
Always wanted to be brave and try a pixie cut? Well the zombie apocalypse would be the perfect time to try this style out. I mean think about it, long luxurious locks may be all well and good at the moment, but when the rising starts to go down, said locks could be the difference between surviving and being dragged into the rancid gnashing teeth of your now undead next door neighbour by your fashionable pony tail or top knot!! Are you willing to take that risk??
Also once in survival mode when the power and hot water are all cut how will you care for your once glorious mane?? A pixie cut requires product to give it texture and prevent it from looking like a hair hat, and what works better than any product then 2nd, 3rd, or 28 day hair!! You will be rocking texture like there is no tomorrow (literally).
So what are you more scared of, zombies or going for the chop??
So make that appointment girls and don't get bit!
Till next time.

Introducing...
Hello Friends
Mr Vitamin G here, just a quick post to introduce myself as the newest member of the ‘For the Love of Bunnies Zombies and Frocks’ team. First of all I want to thank Miss K for raising the hard hitting issues surrounding the pending zombie apocalypse and the importance of fashion when surviving such an event. I also think bunnies can be pretty damn cute when they haven't been ripped open for a gizzard sandwich by a woodland dwelling zombie.
So an insight into my future musings here as we journey down the highways filled with broken down cars. I will be bringing you a blood soaked serve of pop culture with a twist. We can all agree that The Walking Dead has brought the idea of surviving in a dystopian society back to the forefront and Hollywood is going absolutely gangbusters with this concept. It is amongst this feeding frenzy that I will be bringing you the latest and greatest tasty treats from movies to music and everything else in between!!!

Well I have spent most of the week out of action and delirious from some nasty virus, which at times in my delium I was convinced I was ground zero for the zombie plague! But after dome shocking feverish nights I am pleased to report that I have survived and appear to be on the mend! Don't pack away your survival kits too soon though because you just never know when it may strike!!

Camping survival style
On the weekend I agreed to go camping with Mr K as I decided it was time to brush up on my bush survival skills for the impending 'event'. Now Mr K is not a true believer of the zombie apocalypse and scoffs at me for over stocking the pantry with non perishables and my strict home security rules, but he is an avid camper and has the upper body strength to wield an axe through a zombie skull if it came to it.
The camp site

The facilities!
The highway
So we chose a spot about one hour out of our city, close enough for supply runs but far enough away from the hungry hoards of city infected. Our camp site was slightly elevated and in the centre of the camp area and had sight lines for all angles. It did have some facilities which where questionable but hey better then a shovel, and was on the river so plenty of access to fresh running water. All round it would be a great spot to set up a survival camp except for one major draw back, it's quite close to the highway which we all know when it all goes down will be chocked full of abandoned cars and walking corpses. Perhaps we did not have to forage for our own food and did a quick grocery ron on the way out, oh and purchased our fire wood from the petrol station and took the iPod, but hey you have to start somewhere!!
I did learn a few valuable lessons such as how to finally skip a rock across the water (well making your own entertainment will be important once everything is lost), how to make and cook over a fire and that when mirrors are not in the equation my care factor of how I look is reduced!

So what have you been doing to start develping some of those skills that will help you survive?

Happy Halloween
I hope you all had a fun Halloween yesterday. In recent years Halloween has started to really take off here in Australia and I for one am on board! This is probably not that surprising for someone who has a zombie blog.
Of course there are the haters out there who say it's too commercial, it's not our tradition blah blah blah but they seem happy enough to jump on board with Valentines day and St Pats day and who cares, it's fun, lets make it part of our tradition and celebrate with family and friends. I mean how many chances do we get as adults to play dress ups? Sales for Halloween merchandise were up 30% from last year and I would say this trend will continue to grow and Halloween will be here to stay in Oz (sorry haters). It is fast becoming one of my favourite holidays, so here is a peak at my Halloween for 2012.
